My name is Joseph Shadel and I am the Cruising Chair Person at the City Island Yacht Club. I was offered this position in July of last sailing season and even at this late start, managed to organize several successful cruises. We went to places like Sagamore Yacht Club in Oyster Bay. Waved to Billy Joel as we sailed by his Mansion. To Northport to hang in the pool at the Northport Yacht Club during our heat wave of last summer and all the way to Port Jefferson to walk the dunes in Pirates Cove then into town for a great relaxing dinner. Hopefully we are blessed with a summer full of fair winds so we can sail all the way there and back, without the noise of our trustworthy engines.
